The company

Our client is an AJ top 10 practice with a varied and impressive portfolio of projects in the Educational, International, Commercial and Transportation sectors. With a number of offices around the UK and Internationally they are a strong presence in different market places and hence a secure workload.

The role

Our international client seeks an experienced Project Architect to join their Bristol office.
Your role will include:
Management of small and medium sized projects or sections of larger projects so as to achieve the client's objectives and programme.
• Analysis of briefs and data, and contribute to the development of the project
• Assistance in the execution of projects with defined design and cost parameters
• Will undertake independent design studies and analysis and prepare recommendations and conclusions for formal review
• Present results of projects to clients under the supervision of a project leader/director
• Provide technological input and supervise technical input by others within the Architectural discipline
• Keen to experience working on larger and more multi-disciplined projects, from conception through to completion
• Work with minimum guidance and effectively manage own time which may if necessary be allocated to more than one project
• Assistance in the monitoring and reporting on capital and fee expenditure

The person

Requirements:
• Part 3 RIBA Qualification in Architecture or equal
• ARB registered with project experience
• Good working knowledge of current Building Regulations and planning application processes
• Recognised training of software packages i.e. AutoCAD, Microstation, 3D packages and Microsoft suite of products
• Familiar with researching, preparing and presenting technical presentations and reports
• Experience of managing projects
• An understanding of specialisms for example Conservation, Sustainability, Urban Design would be desirable but not essential
• A flexible attitude and commercial awarenesss to the type of work undertaken, and the level of responsibility accepted

The Individual:
• Needs to be commercially aware, and have a flexible attitude to both the type of work undertaken and the level of responsibility accepted
• Should be prepared to work on multiple projects
• Will work as a member of a team and be expected to contribute to team performance and demonstrate use of initiative. Our work can involve travel as well as working with other offices both home and abroad.
• Should provide portfolio evidence of a good design background, showing quality in presentation and a depth in understanding of regulatory requirements and construction detailing in design.
