The role
You will be responsible for setting up and ultimately managing a professional team that will by the end of this year maximise the market value of our UK Asset Portfolio in the spot- and reserve-markets.
Your team will develop and execute asset backed trading strategies, requiring close communication with the operators at the power plants and the traders at Statkraft Markets. You will be responsible for the further development of the business by continuously improving our tools and procedures that help in extracting the market value of our asset portfolio. With the asset portfolio available 24 hours per day for 7 days a week you will be responsible for a smooth hand-over to our existing 24x7-shift team.
In your job, you will get in close contact with all the aspects of the utility business, from trading to the back-office and accounting Being a highly qualified employee, you will have the chance to actively contribute to the further development and growth of Statkraft Markets, working closely with various departments in Germany, The Netherlands, UK, Bulgaria and Norway.
The person
• You have more than two years of relevant experience in managing exposures in the short-term UK electricity markets,
• You are fully on top of all the rules and regulation in the UK electricity markets and are well able to convert this into the relevant commercial information,
• You have a university degree in business and / or engineering,
• You are a self-motivated commercial professional with good analytical skills,
• You are flexible, accurate and capable of further developing the business, and
• You are a team player with good communicative skills.
Candidates must possess the existing right to live and work in the European Economic Area (EEA).
You will possess excellent spoken and written English language skills.
