The company
My client is a progressive exploration/developer company that is currently developing a project out in East Africa. This Canadian based company that quoted on the Toronto Stock Exchange (TSX) is looking at shortly becoming a producer of gold, and copper. With assets in East Africa the company is concentrating efforts on this project with the intension that it will start producing in the early part of 2010.
The role
My client is currently looking for a talented senior mine surveyor to start a new exciting project as soon as possible. With an open-pit mine which is predominately a gold deposit, however there will be an extra bonus of producing copper and zinc. Ideally this candidate will be able to work as part of a team but also be able to work to tight end lines and train locals.
The person
As the Senior mine surveyor you will have to have:
Gemcom software knowledge
Extensive experience in open pit mine surveying
A degree is essential for this position
Experience in surveying dumps, slimes dams, updating surface plans, surveying of exploration bore holes and trenches
English spoken and written communication essential
