Alistair Tudor, Managing Consultant in Faststream’s Shipping Division attended one of Geneva’s first networking events at the Capitals Lady Godiva Pub.

The event, organised by John W. Levin and Cecile Fohlmann from Bunge’s operations team, was born from a recent article in Tradewinds which highlighted Geneva among the ‘hottest’ chartering / vessel operations hubs. The article was derived from a survey by the Geneva Trading & Shipping Association (GTSA) which claimed that Geneva accounts for more than one-fifth of the world’s tanker and dry-bulk chartering business.

The networking evening was attended by over 70 shipping professionals and provided an opportunity for operators, traders, owners and charterers to further develop their relationships. Following the success of the event it is likely to become a quarterly occasion as a way to strengthen the shipping community in Geneva.

Alistair Tudor commented: “Geneva has quietly become one of shipping’s hot-spots and it was fantastic to see members of such a social industry meeting each other on an informal basis. I look forward to attending future events and have to congratulate Bunge’s operations team in developing such a strong networking opportunity”.
