The role
In this position you will be sailing on LNG carriers
You will be expected to operate, repair and maintain the vessel’s electrical, control, communication and navigational equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:
• Carrying out routine duties required in the normal operation of the ship and by Planned Maintenance Systems.
• Assisting in the preparation of spare gear and equipment procurement requirements.
• Maintaining and retrofitting the ship’s electrical and electronic systems and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Maintaining and retrofitting the ship’s control systems and equipment in a safe and efficient manner.
• Using all available expertise to ensure the safe and efficient maintenance of electrical equipment - including the safe isolation, at the point of work, of electrical machinery requiring disconnection for maintenance.
This position is offered on a permanent basis with the rotation pattern of: 3 months on 3 months off.
The person
To be suitable for this position you will have the following qualifications and experience:
Minimum OND/ONC in a relevant subject, recognised shore-side apprenticeship, relevant services qualification or previous ETO experience.
Experience of working with equipment in “Hazardous Areas”.
Fluency in written and oral English
Previous sailing experience on LNG vessels
Please note that this position is being offered on a permanent basis.
As this position sits within the European fleet the immediate right to live and work in the EU is essential.
