The role
In this position you will be sailing on LNG vessels.
You will be responsible for the navigation of the vessel. Ensuring safe and efficient cargo operations are carried out at all times. In conjunction with the Chief Engineer, the Chief Officer should supervise the maintenance of cargo, deck and miscellaneous fittings.
This will include but is not be limited to:
• Taking responsibility for all cargo, ballast and ancillary operations, in consultation with the Master, to ensure that they are carried out in a safe and efficient manner at all times.
• Carrying out mooring and anchor operations as required.
• Ensuring that the water tight integrity and stability of the vessel is maintained at all times including the security of watertight compartments.
• Undertaking the duties of the Pollution Prevention Officer.
• Being responsible for all lifting operations and appliances on the vessel.
• Providing medical care for all persons on board in conjunction with the Master
This position is offered on a permanent basis with the rotation pattern of: 3 months on 3 months off.
The person
To be suitable for this position you will have the following qualifications and experience:
An STCW Chief Officers (II/2) Certificate of Competency
Fluency in written and oral English
Previous sailing experience on LNG vessels
Please note that this position is being offered on a permanent basis.
As this position sits within the European fleet the immediate right to live and work in the EU is essential.
