The company

Teekay’s sophisticated shuttle tankers load oil from offshore platforms in some of the world’s harshest and most demanding environments. Their customers rely on them to ensure their oil is lifted like clockwork.

The offshore loading business is not only about shuttle tankers. It is also about sophisticated scheduling systems and close partnerships with customers. It is one thing to operate a shuttle tanker, it is quite another to provide the trusted “floating pipeline” to customers.

As part of Teekay's commitment to delivering an industry leading operation, they are combining their technical shuttle tanker team together with their commercial team in Stavanger, Norway.

Teekay plan to attract industry leading candidates to join them and continue to raise their technical and people standards.

The role

With responsibility for Teekay’s North Sea shuttle tanker operation as well as field operations, you will be accountable to the VP Shuttle Operations for the development and delivery of an industry leading, technical management operation.

You are delegated overall decision making and risk management responsibility which will be delivered in line with Teekay strategy.

This will be achieved by leading your teams delivery of all maintenance, inspection, communication and vessel performance activities as planned by your team members to Teekay standards.

Pro-active planning, decision making, team development and communication are day to day requirements of the role.

Whilst utilizing your team’s specialist knowledge, you will own the plan to ensure that safety and environmental compliance are the top priority.

The person

A natural leader will be able to be the link between strategy and operations.

Comfortable with real time responsibility, you will need to be able to demonstrate customer satisfaction, safety and environmental performance and management of budgets, people, standards and commercial risk.

It is expected that candidates will have a strong technical bias and will be completely comfortable with plant, propulsion and systems aboard complex oil, gas, product or chemical tankers. Ideally you will be familiar with sophisticated shuttle tanker systems such as DP and VOC plants and be familiar with offshore loading operations.

The reward

An industry leading operation deserves an industry leading compensation and benefits package which includes;

Industry leading base salary and bonus scheme
Comprehensive health, life and pension benefits
Excellent employee assistance program.
