The role
As the Marine Superintendent you will be responsible for managing and coordinating safety and quality activities as well as ensuring that the company’s fleet are operated in a safe and efficient manner. You will investigate and report on accidents, incidents, potential hazards and system failures and assist the Port Manager in the efficient and safe management of the port. You will also be expected to keep your knowledge of regulatory requirements and M Notices up to date to ensure guidelines are adhered to and prepared for.
The person
You will come from a marine background and have experience of International Safety Management systems. Knowledge of STCW ’95, maritime legislation, ship classification, and the Port Marine Safety Code are desired. You will be computer literate and competent with Microsoft Office. The successful candidate will have a personable character and the ability to liaise with crew members as well as management.
