The company
Our client is a diversified and independent shipping group serving the international gas and oil industry. Apart from providing the ships for the transportation of these products, it also performs studies and undertakes the management of commercial, technical and administrative activities for the industry.
The role
As Technical Superintendent you will naturally be responsibly for all aspects of operation and technical maintenance and upkeep of your appointed vessels including planned maintenance whilst adhering to health and safety compliance
The position will require you to be capable of project management, ship refits and maintenance, whilst you will also be required to work closely with the Technical manager.
The ideal candidate will have sailed to a senior level or will be working ashore in the role of Superintendent operating LPG vessels.
The person
The successful candidate will be a driven, dynamic and ambitious person who can rise to a challenge and establish themselves as key member within the company. You will need to be an excellent communicator.
You will also need to posses the following:
• Class 1 Certificate of Competency (Motor) with experience as Chief Engineer
• Knowledge of class legislations
• Familiarity and genuine positive attitude to the use and importance of Technical management systems
• Experience in the use of IT systems
