The role
Due to increasing activity, the DNV Grimsby office is seeking a ships in service & material and components surveyor.
The DNV Grimsby office covers SIO activities for various ship types, including Bulk Carriers, Oil, Chemical & Gas Tankers, Supply Vessels, Car Carriers and repairs / surveys in drydock. ISM and ISPS audits are also regularly performed as part of those activities. The port has expanded significantly over the last few years and is continuing to develop, already being the largest port in the UK. The office also services a number of local manufacturers for CMC type activities. The Grimsby office is an important part of the DNV UK Maritime network and supports clients in the North of England as well as occasional assignments abroad.
The person
You should have the following
• Degree in Naval Architecture, Marine Engineering Class 1 ticket or equivalent;
• Operational / sea going experience will be an asset
• ISM and ISPS qualified will also be considered an advantage
• Good communication skills and the ability to build good client relationships
