Faststream Recruitment is to hold a ‘massage clinic’ at the Tour Pour La Mer charity cycle event, being held in Southampton on Friday 26th September.

The one-day event, which consists of a 100 mile cycle ride around Hampshire, has been established to raise money for The Mission To Seafarers, a charity which cares for seafarers around the World.

The ride, which starts and finishes at Palmerston Park, Southampton, will see around 200 maritime industry professionals from around the UK take part in the gruelling distance.

Faststream Recruitment will be holding a ‘massage clinic’ in the finishing marquee where cyclists can get treatment for their aching legs. The ‘express’ massage treatments will be given by students studying Holistic Therapy at the Isle of Wight College, with all donations going to The Mission To Seafarers.

Ben Darnton, Faststream Recruitment’s Shipping, Marine and Offshore manager commented: “We’ve estimated that the cyclists will have climbed an ascent of 5,900ft, and pedal around 50,000 revolutions during the 100 mile ride. With the average cycle time estimated at 6 – 7 hours it’s going to be extremely demanding on the body. We hope that the massage clinic will be able to soothe the rider’s aches and pains whilst helping towards raising a projected £500,000 for The Mission To Seafarers”.
