Permanent placements were on the up in July with the strongest increase for over two years, as reported in NTC Economics monthly jobs report.

The number of candidates placed in permanent jobs by recruitment consultancies rose for the thirty-eighth consecutive month. But it’s not just the increase in job placements that’s been at the forefront of the market in July, the demand for permanent staff has also risen, with Engineering and Construction jobs sitting at the top of the league table.

Dave Hutchinson, Manager of Faststreams Civil & Structural jobs division commented: “The Engineering and Construction market has been extremely steady due to the increase in numbers of large-scale building projects. There’s currently a huge undertaking of mixed-use developments, which is mainly down to the over-crowding in the south”.

“The re-generation of inner city’s, large housing projects and the preparation for the 2012 Olympics should see the market continue to increase and the demand for staff to mirror this growth”.
