The Burj Dubai, the UAE’s latest ‘mega structure’ has been announced as the world’s tallest building when it soared an incredible 512.1 metres (1,680 ft) on July 21st 2007.

It overtakes TaiwansTaipei 101’ which held the title since its launch in 2004 at 508 metres (1,667 ft). The final height of the Burj Dubai has not yet been revealed and is the topic of massive debate amongst the industry.

Claire Colley, Faststream’s Architectural Manager commented: “The Burj Dubai is an amazing structure and just one of SOM’s famous designs, setting the limits of what is possible in the built environment.
