The latest survey form the Institute of Civil Engineers (ICE) has revealed that the average total package for leadership roles such as managing directors and chief executives has hit six figures for the first time at £101,989 – an increase of 5.9 per cent on 2006.
Also on the up are graduate salaries, with the average ‘fresh graduate’ scooping up £26,833.

It is vital for our industry that we encourage more students to consider a civil engineering degree as a route to a good career.”
The average salary for men is £51,400, compared to £38,000 for women; the differential is a result of fewer females occupying senior posts.
